What is Nutritional Therapy?

At Heading, we use nutritional therapy to not only benefit the body, but help improve the function of the mind—from the cellular level on up. 

The Science Behind Nutritional Therapy

When people think about mental health, food isn’t usually the first thing that comes to mind., However, most people don’t realize that the brain is the most metabolically active organ in the body, using up to 20% of their nutritional intake, making what we eat very important to our brain health and function! 


What we eat is meant to nourish and build our cells, but often in today’s fast-paced world, diets become full of low-nutrient, highly processed foods, lacking in the vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that are needed to maintain and protect the cells throughout the body, including the brain. This lack of the essential building blocks starves the cells and over time this can cause them to malfunction.
