Meet our Team
At Heading we believe healing is possible.
We offer advanced, innovative, team-based care through teletherapy, telepsychiatry, and interventional treatments at our centers to support our patients on their journey to wellness.
I enjoy working with adults of all backgrounds and seek to create a warm, open, and non-judgmental space for each person I work with. I believe that no matter how complex and confusing life's issues may appear, there is always the opportunity for growth, healing and understanding. I look forward to collaborating with you in building with you!
Going to therapy is not as unusual as you would think! No matter how different we appear to be, I guarantee we can connect, and relate on some level. What you will learn about me is that I am laid back and a far cry from a stuffy professional. I want to know that you're not alone in how you think and how you feel.
I always wanted to know what made people tick. So, at 4 years old, I decided I wanted to be in the field of psychiatry. Entering therapy takes courage and determination. I believe in working together to identify what you desire to change, and I am educational in my approach as I believe you have to understand why you are doing something in order to change it.
"During a first session with a client I let them know that this is just like having a conversation at a cafe or a bar. And I may be doing 'therapy' on the back end, but it needs to feel like a normal conversation. We can talk about anything and everything, and they can ask me questions too. I want my clients to feel like they are talking to a friend."
“I became a therapist because I got help for my own struggles, and I wanted to help others do the same. I believe what we put into therapy sessions is what we get in return.
Clients will find that I'm straight-forward and honest, and I want everyone to know that there is nothing to be ashamed or afraid of in therapy. It is a learning and problem solving process that we go through together.”
You are not alone in this. Seeking help does not mean that you are 'crazy." It just means that you know that something's happening in your brain and body, and you may not have the energy or understanding to get yourself through it alone. Help is available.
Improving your mental health is a pivotal and foundational part of wellness, and necessary for overall enhancement of your quality of life. I approach therapy from a place of partnership, curiosity, collaboration, and with a focus on solutions to alleviate negative symptoms. I actively listen, allow space for reflection/exploration, and truly start where you are in the journey.
Work with me is always collaborative. Diagnosis is important but not mandatory. Your plan will be comprehensive, but not overwhelming. I prescribe medications and psychotherapy, but if you tried something else, please tell me. I want to learn from you as you know you best!
I want my patients to know that we will work together as a team to achieve their mental health goals and to achieve an optimal level of functioning even if they have been struggling for a long time - there are obtainable, evidence-based outcomes that really can be achieved. I want my patients to feel heard, validated, and genuinely cared for when they work with me.
I am open minded and a very good listener. I use a person centered approach as human connection is very important to me. Mental health impacts all aspects of life and I understand the vulnerability it takes to reach out for help. If you're struggling having access to a full toolkit - pharmaceuticals, treatments, therapy, social connectiveness, and caring for mind, body, and spirit - makes a huge difference with feeling better and thriving.
The role of nutrition and lifestyle is so important treating Mental Health, but no one was talking about it. So let's change that! I am non-dogmatic in my approach to finding personalized lifestyle and nutritional solutions for you to heal - mind, body, and spirit.
