Decades of research supports the effectiveness of medication and talk therapy, with several studies showing that a combination of antidepressants and therapy is more effective than either treatment alone — specifically for depression, panic disorder, and OCD.
There are several types of psychiatric medications, including antidepressants, which most commonly treat depression and anxiety disorders, antipsychotics and mood stabilizers for bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, and fast-acting anti-anxiety medications, which are typically prescribed as-needed for panic disorder. Regular telepsychiatry sessions allow you and your provider to determine what medication(s) and dosage(s) are right for you.
Alone or alongside medication, teletherapy creates a safe and supportive space for you to process thoughts and emotions, and learn coping skills with a licensed professional. Thousands of studies emphasize the effectiveness of therapy for a variety of conditions across populations.
