While serving in the military I saw the need for more attention to mental and emotional health through the ineffective and destructive ways many of my peers were coping with stress.
Crispin Feliciano, LPC is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas.
Crispin was inspired to enter the field of mental health after serving in the U.S. Navy. He saw the need for more attention to be paid to mental and emotional wellbeing after witnessing the destructive ways many of his peers were coping with stress. When he works with a patient it is his goal to hold their autonomy in high regard, and uphold decisions that they make while simultaneously offering insight and information along the way. One of his primary modalities is DBT which allows him to offer skills that patients can use to reorganize thoughts and perspectives so that they can feel more empowered.
Crispin believes that part of mental wellness is acknowledging when past situations or circumstances may not be our fault while simultaneously offering ourselves compassion and accountability so that we can take responsibility for our reactions and our lives moving forward to influence solutions and healing.
Crispin received his Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Texas at San Antonio. Crispin has worked within a wide range of settings including, non-profit organizations, behavioral hospitals, intensive residential treatment, and non-residential community counseling. He has worked with individuals experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, the LGBT community, and currently sees patients via telehealth. Outside of counseling, he enjoys spending time in nature, staying active through bike riding on the San Antonio Green Way trails, and hiking local and national parks.
Crispin accepts most insurance plans, and provides therapy relating to many conditions, including major depressive disorders, chronic and long-standing stress disorders, PTSD and circumstances including LGBTQIA issues and domestic abuse.
